The Verde Valley is home to two major attractions: Birding and Wine Tasting. For many birders, the hour or more spent in the afternoon at a wine tasting room is the perfect ending of a great day in the field. No binoculars; no checklists; just a time to relax and share the day’s thoughts with your friends. The wine industry in the Verde Valley has grown as fast as birding if one counts the numbers of people involved and the impact upon the economy of Arizona. There are, by recent count, 26 wine tasting rooms in the Valley. All four of the rooms listed below grow their own grapes here in the Valley. The last three tasting rooms are actually located in their vineyards.

Alcantara is a family-owned, local business that began in 2004. Wine maker Ron Brumley states the rocky limestone soil and sunny climate in the Verde Valley is very similar to the wine making regions of France and Italy.
You’ll find Alcantara Vineyards has over 20,000 vines and offers 17 different varietals. While you sip wine and enjoy our peaceful surroundings, which include vineyards, a grass picnic area, the Verde River, and bald eagles flying overhead, you’ll find you are part of our community and family. Page Springs Cellars is a winery first and foremost. But it’s also a destination that encourages exploration. Here, visitors can pack a day full of authentic experiences, from the obvious—tasting wine—to strolling the vineyards on a tour, opening up the heart and mind during a yoga session, creating a private event, or savoring our house-made jam. Experiences. Little moments. You know, the things that make the world go round.
Weekdays Vs. Weekends: Please note that weekdays often allow more space and calmer energy, compared to weekends which are often busier with higher energy. Both can create amazing experiences based on your preferences!

Today, nestled in among pecan groves, pastures, small farms and produce stands, we are successfully growing six varietals. Primitivo, Montepulciano and Aglianico vines are planted in the former pasture where the soils are fertile and winter temperatures cold. Malvasia Bianca, Sangiovese, and Barbera vines are planted on the hillside where the soils are well-drained and the summer temperatures are warm.
Recognizing that our vineyard is an ideal way station site, we are installing a perimeter drip system to propagate milkweed species that are essential for successful Monarch breeding and migration. Salt Mine Wine is easily accessed along the road to Beasley Flats hot spot.
