Sheep’s Crossing (Alcantara)

Sheep's Crossing (Verde River)Description: This site is wonderfully located at the confluence of Oak Creek and the Verde River. The upstream portion of the site is owned by Alcantara Winery which is, itself, a worthwhile stop after birding is finished.

Ease of road access: Very good dirt road last 3/4 mile.

Ease of hiking access: Short, steep trail from parking lot to flood plain. The broad flood pain itself has several worn trails but can be crossed at will.

How to Get There:

 

Parking facilities: Adequate dirt parking lot at trail head next to RV Resort. Frequency of use by public: Very lightly used
